It may seem obvious to say that digital is the future.
Increasingly, many people’s first encounter with your brand will be online.
41% of charities describe their digital capabilities as ‘poor’, but 3 in 5 donors want to donate online, and 2 in 5 donors will give more money online.
For small businesses, over 70% of SMEs want to prioritise using digital channels to speak to their customers, but 6 in 10 small businesses have yet to even establish a website. Digital presence isn’t just an opportunity to make sales, it’s key to brand recognition and trust.
The digital landscape isn’t going anywhere, but it will continue to change and develop. By being at the forefront of these changes, your organisation can continue to reach new people, and diversify your audience.

Remote working gives me the opportunity to work with lots of different organisations across the UK and Jersey. It allows me to keep costs down for my clients, and by cutting commuting times, work with more businesses and organisations.
Remote working benefits businesses too. Not all businesses have access to ample desk space, or even an office to work from!

For the benefit of the people and the planet, as well as the quality of my work, I boycott AI tools wherever possible. This includes refusing to use generative AI like ChatGPT and others.
There are some platforms, such as Canva or Sprout, where AI tools are unavoidable and not clearly labelled as to what is ‘AI’ and what is not.
Overall advertising the use of AI in your materials can be damaging and polarising for your supporters or consumers so I do not recommend it as a marketing tool either. In general, it can be very easy to see when AI has been utilised.
My ethos:
my writing is my own and will not have been put through an AI platform to proof or ‘improve’ it.
I do not use AI generated images, music or video (to the best of my knowledge)
I do not recommend the use of AI to any of my clients, except where their content may be penalised for not using certain features (eg Meta advertising).
I will continue to use industry best-practice platforms such as Adobe, Microsoft, Canva, and others, as well as utilising the major social media platforms, whilst trying to avoid as many AI features as possible, and encouraging my clients to do the same.
